For centuries the dry stone method has been used to construct houses, fences, entry pillars and garden walls. Today, the art and skill of stone masonry lives on at Yarrabee & Castlemaine Stone Solutions. We have been hand-sorting stone for application in dry stone walling for over 50 years.

Our dry stone walling solutions fall under two main categories:

 

Castlemaine Spalls: This is a locally sourced structural walling stone that results in a dry-stacked wall approximately 250-300mm thick. Our Castlemaine "Strata" option is a more linear product which is generally laid in front of a structural masonry block wall. Each of these options gives a beautiful dry stone walling result.

 

Wistow Bookleaf: Wistow bluestone is quarried in South Australia and is perfect for achieving a natural look. This stone is available only as bookleaf walling as no cut tiles are produced. Wistow stone is extremely well-sorted into specific size and thickness, and the dry stone walling material and is particularly popular with our stone mason clients due its flat profile.
