Please note that “Belgian Black” is a genuine limestone and as such must not be acid washed. It is therefore important to ensure that all grout is removed from the surface at the time of grouting.

This stone is particularly durable and can be used for driveways with confidence provided it is laid over a sound concrete base.

Sealing of “Belgian Black” to aid with protection against stain will result in a darkening of the stone even when a penetrating sealer is used.

Being a split stone of varying thickness we recommend that “Belgian Black” is laid into a wet mortar mix comprising white washed sand and cement- a plasticiser will be needed to make this mix workable.
